Dissappointing Start

English Premier League is officially began on Saturday, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea wins their respective match. Things however didn't go really well for the start of Man Utd 2007-2008 campaign, draw against Reading at home. On top of that, Wayne Rooney is limped off at half time with a seemingly moderate left foot injury which may sidelined him for at least 2 months. No Anderson, Hargreaves and Tevez in this match btw.

The match, even though most of the time is dominated by Man Utd, they were not able to take the chance and finish the game, especially in the first half when Ryan Giggs and Rooney had some great chance to score. Yesterday is simply the day for Reading goalkeeper, Marcus Hahnemann who make some excellent saves to deny Man Utd from scoring.

Rooney is substituted by Nani at halftime, and later Sylvestre is also injured, replaced by O'Shea. What surprise me is that, O'Shea is used as substitute striker, along with Christiano Ronaldo as 2nd striker. Well it's not that I'm undermined O'Shea, but this may be unexpected for Sir Alex who didn't feature any striker on the subs bench (thus was forced to use O'Shea as striker; a player I think suits better in midfield or defence.

With Rooney injured, now the new signing Carlos Tevez have much chance to prove himself on the fields, tagging alongside Louis Saha. And I hope the next match (this Wednesday, against Portsmouth) Man Utd show a more convincing performance.
