Freezing Field

It's been 4 days now, Adelaide was turbulently cloudy and cold, with average temperature of 10-15oC. The weather forecast already mentioned about this a few days ago, with Sunday and Monday being a normal cold day in Adelaide. But Tuesday was really cold, it freeze me even though this is only Autumn. Theres no sign of sunlight, with occasional rainfall. Even worse, I need to go to CM to buy groceries. Man, I really wish I could stay at home sleeping all day... If autumn is this cold, I wonder how would the winter be...

And this is my final week of semester 1, coming next is 2 week study leave (yay!) and the final exam...seriously I need to revise more, especially Chemistry...

this is sooooo [insert word]

Another tiring weekday has passed....Indeed it is a tiring day for me. First on monday, though I have nothing particularly important to be submitted, I need to gather enough infos for the GM debate held on the next day. Then on Tuesday, there is the Debate regarding Genetically Modified Food. My topic was Organic Food vs GM Food. Finish the debate, proceed to Process System tute for the next day. This one is probably the most tiring one, since we need to submit both tute 6 and 7 on the same day, while I haven't really finish studying the whole lecture notes. But still, I manage to submit it on time (thanks to Sirul and Hasbi, hehehe). On Tuesday I need to submit Biology practical report, while on Friday I have Chemistry practical. So every night isn't the time for me to get enough rest, even though I still do some games, just to kill some boredness.

enough of that, the weekend has arrived and I need to focus more on my study since the exam will be coming pretty soon...

-------new anime downloaded-------

>REC (I've read the manga before, and curiosity lead me to download the anime, hahaha)
>Tona Gura (the manga is good, but the anime receive some critiques, so I just want to know how bad or good it is)
>Seto no Hanayome (new series downloaded)

Final Exam~~~

Huhu, finally final exam is about to begin...just one month left.
talk about preparation, I haven't really prepared for them yet, and still in the process of recovering all the lectures and tutes that I've skipped before. Even though I've skipped bio lecture most of the time, I don't think I have much problem in this subject. For chemistry, I really need to revise the 2nd part (Chemistry of Elements) and a bit of part 1 (especially MNR and MO). Process System...basically not that hard as long as I do the tutes (which of course I do, it's compulsory). And lastly Biotech, which I think might be one of the hardest...

It's Officially Over

The English Premier League is finally over yesterday with Man Utd lifting the title at Old Trafford despite the 0-1 lost against West Ham, whilst the strugling of the bottom ended up with Wigan manage to escape, replaced by Sheffield Utd to be relegated.
Even though Man Utd don't necessarily need to win this game, but I feel a bit dissappointed because they have failed to score any goal against West Ham this season in the premiership. Looking at the stat of the match, we can say that Man Utd is unlucky not to score in the match. They had plentiful shots/shots on target, unfortunately West Ham keeper Robert Green and the defensive line are also in good form yesterday.

Following the match is the crowning of Man Utd as the Champions.
Now all that left is bringing the FA Cup back to Old Trafford.
GLORY GLORY MAN UTD!!!!

English Translation

I run with a parched heart
Sorry, I couldn't do anything
You won't even let me
Share our pain together

To live on without tarnish
I turn my back and head out without looking back
on the lonely rail

I'll follow you
No matter how agonizing it is; even within the darkness of the world
You will certainly shine
I'll overcome the limit of the future
My weakness will not shatter my spirit
my way overlaps with yours
For the two of us, God bless...

This affection that warms when it reaches me
Melts reality and wanders
I don't need a reason for wanting to meet you
Just my overflowing feelings, Lovin' you

For now, I'll paint a beautiful dream
And chase after you
for your lonely heart

Stop it, it's not like you to lie
Look at my eyes and let's talk about our future
I am prepared
Even if the future is dark
I'll become stronger and I might be able to change my destiny
Though I want my wish to come true
Everything is God knows...

You are here, I am here
Everyone else has disappeared
While we paint the beauty of this fleeting dream
We trace out the lines of our scars

That's why I'll follow you
No matter how agonizing it is; even within the darkness of the world
You will certainly shine
I'll overcome the limit of the future
My weakness will not shatter my spirit
my way overlaps with yours
For the two of us, God bless...

Another one of my favorite insert song. From an awesome yet overrated Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, this song has quickly become part of my almost every playlist. In this clip, Haruhi (Hirano Aya) sings for the school band called ENOZ (anyone still remember ZONE band?). Watch the anime or read the novel, and you'll know how irony this lyric is.

Xenosaga series

Xenosaga is a great Turn-Based RPG game, first appeared in PS1 as Xenogears by Squaresoft. Then, it is brought to PS2 with the title Xenosaga by Namco. It's a trilogy setting place in the world 6000 years in the future, where Earth doesn't exist anymore and humans live in different planet/colony, particularly Miltia/Second Miltia. To be precise, Xenogear has no relationship in term of story or character, but it has become the inspiration to produce Xenosaga, particularly the mecha and world concept.

The denizen of the universe face the threat of Gnosis, an entity composed of NaCl salt which expose much danger to the humanity. They appear as a result of Miltian Conflict which happened 14 years ago (in the game) and they attract to a power source called "Zohar". Gnosis is virtually impossible to be defeated (even to be touched) because they exist in different dimension but they can come into contact with living things, changing them into salt. The only way to defeat them is by exposing the Gnosis to "Hilbert Effect", an aura which enables the human to come in contact with the gnosis; a feature which only certain android/nanomachine were specialized in.

The protagonist of the series, Shion Uzuki works as a chief in Vector Industry. The story of Xenosaga started with the attack of Gnosis to their spaceship, which awaken an android called "KOS-MOS". KOS-MOS is a special android created to fight against Gnosis, since she can produce Hilbert Effect far greater than the 100-series (those who play the game, you know what I mean). Together with Shion and co-chief Allen, they escape and saved by Elsa, a spaceship belongs to Kukai Foundation.

Many things happened after that. They meet Chaos, the event where Ziggy (Ziggurat 8/Jan Sauer) save MOMO (Multiple Observational Mimetic Organicus), Rubedo/Jr investigating the U-TIC junk ship, and the past event between Rubedo, Albedo, Nigredo and Joachim Mizrahi's daughter, Sakura which died due to incurable diseases. MOMO is the clone/main 100-Series of Sakura, created bu Joachim. All of these event happened in Xenosaga 1: Der Wille Zur Macht, which end with the battle with Albedo and giant Gnosis in Proto Merkabah. Save games, then reload in Xenosaga 2....

In Xenosaga 2: Jensein von Gut und Bose, the story started in Second Miltia, where Shion meet her brother Jin who witnessed Miltian Conflict 14 years ago. Pretty much events happened after that, where they're forced to go into MOMO's subconscious to save the Y-Data and stop Albedo's plan. However, the main villain of the game haven't revealed yet. They're later in the end of the game revealed to be connected with Wilhelm (forgot what's his rank), evil KOS-MOS and Zarathrustra.

Xenosaga 3: Also Sparch Zarathrustra (the final episode) has been released last Sept 2006, and the story continue with even more secrets were revealed, of which the big one is the truth behind Miltian Conflict, and the culprit for the appearance of Gnosis. However, so many things still unanswered even though the seried already ended. This mainly because the story has been compressed from the supposedly 6 episodes, into 3 episodes, so you can guess how much info were cut throughout the processes.

Why I like this game so much...? First, the story. It was pretty well developed, and got nice characters. It is based on Friedrich Nietzsche philosophical work, from Der Will Zur Macht, the latest until Thus Spake Zarathustra (the oldest out of the 3 episode). Many philosophical theory from the books were adapted into the game. For more info about Nietzche work and his philosophy, visit here.

Secondly, the gameplay. I really like the stock/combo/boost feature, as well as the mecha battle. The gameplay is identical to normal rpg games (turn-based), with various enhancement including double/special attacks and critical point point-targeting . The gameplay differs slightly from Xenosaga 1, 2 and 3 but still maintain the basic concept of boost/stock combo. Mastering the battle system is definitely the key of succes in every battle, or else you'll end up spending more than 10 minutes just in a single normal battle.

Third, the sidequest. They have numerous sidequest, some are terribly hard to accomplish (such as finishing the 10,000,000 captain debt), and the crazy hard secret bosses (but not dark erde kaiser battle). And in Xenosaga 3, they come pre-loaded with a mini-game called HakoX game, which is quite addictive and veeery hard toward the end. Just like most rpg, there're ultimate weapon/skill for each characters, and one ultimate skill which is available in all series, Erde Kaiser. Regarded as the strongest offensive skill, it's only usable once per battle in X1 and X2, but in X3, the usage is unlimited, as long as we have the required EP (max 99 EP required). Of course this helps a lot in most battles, but Erde Kaiser isn't that easy to be obtained. It's only acquirable after we go through series of sidequest to unlock some part, before we're able to use it.

Ok, I'm quite sure I've left so many details here, so some basic database about Xenosaga can be acquired here

Champions!!

Finally, Manchester United won the English Premier League on Sunday after 4 years being almost second fiddle to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal. The title comes after Man Utd won the Manchester darby match 1-0, while Chelsea was held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, making the point gap to be 7 points, something Chelsea couldn't reach with only 2 match remaining. 2 years ago, Man Utd had a match against Chelsea with Chelsea already being crowned as champion, and now it's Utd turn to be that way, this Thursday. Chelsea still promised that the match will be a guard of honor though.
This has been a remarkable season for Man Utd. Though they failed to repeat their 1999 treble, they still mantain to be the best team in the premiership, and almost every match is exiting to watch. Like Chelsea, Man Utd also face several crucial injuries (Vidic, Ferdinand, Neville, Evra, Park, Silvestre etc) but they are still be able to show the best performance in many matches.

And now all that left is to get the double by winning the FA Cup against Chelsea this May 19.
GLORY GLORY MAN UTD!!!

The very first time I listen to this song (when I bought the album last year), I got hooked to this song. I simply love the music arrangement and the theme, but unfortunately at that moment I still couldn't find the lyric. Now finally I find it, and I was kinda shock that I thought the first part was actually sang in english! And I need to censor that initial part, since it might provoke some sensitivity to certain people.
And now I'm still working on the english translation..it's a bit hard without NJ communicator here...

And also, this song has no connection with Hellsing anime in any way (as in the vids above), it's just used as BGM in that AMV. This song was officially composed for Mai Hime PS2 games.

An awful match

Darn, Man Utd isn't what they are this morning, they play a terible match on the 2nd leg of semi final against AC Milan at San Siro. Leading with 3-2 on aggregate from the first leg at Old Trafford, I really hope they could advance to the final by winning at San Siro, or at least getting a draw. However they were demolished 3-0, 5-3 on aggretage, thus automatically knock them out of the competition, and ended their dream of repeating 1999 Treble.

The match started on a wet day due to the rain, which temporarily stopped halfway through the game, and I think that's one of the factor which spoiled their game. Man Utd isn't even close to getting a goal...But still, the first 2 goals from Milan are top-class, though I must admit that Seedorf goal were credit to Heize' fault of passing/clearance. But the 3rd goal...what were the defence really think? Yeah they want to push for goal, but that really cost them another goal, and the road to Athens. Gilardino easily beat the offside trap and convert the goal, no Utd defender is close to him to get the ball....

Now they must focus on winning the Premiership, as well as the FA Cup.
