F4F Final: MYM vs Mouz

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Just early this morning, the Final match of Dota-League tournament, Farm 4 Fame was held, featuring Meetyourmakers (MYM) vs Mouseports (Mouz).
Many top teams were invited, although some teams decided to forfeit due to lag issue (read: EHOME), as well as tight schedule (read: Fnatic). My favorite team, Kingsurf was beaten by the finalist Mouz in the 3rd round, while the other Kingsurf division, KS.Int was beaten in the semi final against MYM.

Overall the final matches have something interesting to look for:

[pitlord] MYM|Maelk (Bottom)

Looking at the ban and pick order, it was comehow clear what Mouz is trying to do, and MYM knew it, and counter it. Mouz took Mirana and Nerubian Assassin as their 4th and 5th pick - meaning without real heavy carry, they are going for a total early-mid game domination. through mass ganking. And they did just that. Kuroky constantly gank left and right from the start, netting Mouz so many early kill advantage, thus forcing MYM's carry, Luna and Spectre to stay close to base and remain relatively underfarmed early games.
But MYM knew better what they were trying to do. Their last pick - Pit Lord solves everything. Pit Lord, once infamously known to be a trash hero when he was first introduced back then in 6.44, has become an absolute bastard which made pushing very difficult for Mouz. Whenever they try to push mid, Pit Lord simply clear the creep via Fire Storm and Corpse Expulsion. Mouz really lack the heroes to counter that massive anti-push by MYM, and as a result, Fear' Luna started to gain farm and momentum. So to make things short, MYM who were severely beaten early games made a comeback and manage to push straight to throne, ending the game.
There was one point when 3 of MYM heroes were dead and unable to buy out, and Mouz capitalize it by taking down mid rax and top melee rax. But it proves not enough to stop the farmed Luna. On top of that, there was not a single Guinsoo on Mouz side, while MYM had 2 (Pit Lord and QoP). This made things difficult for Mouz main carry, Kuroky who even had 2 Butterflies, Skadi and Manta.

This game really demosntrate what is now termed "Turtle strategy" - delaying the enemy push in a subtle way for ally carry to get farmed, and won them late game. Effective, but definitely not the topmost priority in dota metagame. Heck, winning the match is the most important thing, that's the most satisfying thing anyway.

to summarize this lenghty 80+ minutes match, thanks to DA-ers:

Game Summary: Mouz got off to a very solid start, keeping Fear and Slahser down and controlling the game deftly with wards. Mouz's early gank/lane control team proved to be very dangerous, and their early dominance led to some uncontested towers as NA/Zeus and PotM were extremely potent. Fortunately, thanks to clever item choices, Maelk's Pit Lord, Mania's QoP and Fear's usual Luna play, MYM found themselves stalling and obtaining the items that would lead them to lategame. Pusher and Slahser made some small mistakes but were able to at least participate and contribute to team battles. Kuroky was farming ridiculous amounts with PotM, and a key gank of PitLord nearly turned the tide, but unfortunately Mouz was unable to convert this to victory. The stall-game slowly turned the favour to MYM once again, until the inevitable outcome. Features solid crow suiciding.

With that, they go to the second match. If MYM win this, they won the final, along with those hefty prize money.

Mousesports vs Meet Your Makers Game 2

Picks: (MYM First) luna.gif | puck.gif levi.gif | warl.gif lool.gif | beas.gif qopa.gif | potm.gif eart.gif | sfie.gif

Meet Your Makers, Sentinel
[warlock] MYM|slasher (Top)
[luna] MYM|Fear (Top)
[potm] MYM|Maelk (Middle)
[earthshaker] MYM|MaNia- (Middle)
[zeus] MYM|Merlini (Bottom)

Mousesports, Scourge

[puck] mouz.Miracle- (Top)
[beastmaster] mouz.Twisted (Top/Jungle)
[shadowfiend] mouz.KuroKy (Middle)
[qop] mouz.Levent (Bottom)
[tidehunter] mouz.Drayich (Bottom)

lesson of the day: don't let Merlini use Zeus. He is simply a beast with Zeus. Before this we've seen how he rape trilane of Earthshaker+Vengeful Spirit+Leshrac some PriDe ago. In this match, even against a dual lane of Tidehunter and QoP, he was still able to remain relatively farmed (not as carry obviously), juking at low health and still able to get some kills.
Overall despite a fairly balanced lineup from both team, Mouz was outplayed. MYM took the win and thus won the final match. GGWP.
