Yuyuko Saigyouji = Krobelus

Someone over the PD showed this video, which I find totally badass. Mostly because Yuyuko model and theme synergise perfectly with the original Krobelus model. Yes, I'm talking about her flying butterflies that replace Exorcism's ghost, and Carrion Swarm. I would love if IceFrog would actually replace Krobelus model with her, even just for 1 april fool version. Some might say that it's not so "warcraftish", but hey, DotA already has Lina Inverse, Zerg, King Leoric, Rikimaru, Buriza do Kyanon, Kimahri, Sange & Yasha :3
There's another model replacement of Nevermore with Greendam Girl, but her theme doesn't really fit with Shadow Fiend's darkish nature.

Awesome stuff : D

dota comic artist - Milikki

The author of this comic series is Milikki, a talent girl from China.
She started to draw Warcraft-subject comic from 2004 and is very famous in China.
Now She is a illustrator and comic author for many Chinese web-sites and magazines.

Promoting dota comics by a female artist from china, Milikki. Awesome stuff, really cute and funny. Some of the jokes are kinda lame but overall I'm pretty entertained with her works, although majority of them has yet to be translated. I don't understand Chinese, but I do understand what's happening in some of the comics based on the pictures. Depending on your knowledge, some of the jokes might be hard to understand though.

most of her dota-related works can be found on her website:

Some of her English-translated stuff can be found in this link:
The English-translated stuff can also be found in PD's Media section stickied topic.

Click me for sample

Some of her untranslated stuff that I like, really funny if you understand what the joke's about :3

And lastly, her own version of the previous DotA loading screen, cutely made into this wallpapers:

I REALLY LOVE HER WORKS!!! XD

[Dota] Defying All Odds

I'm bored...nobody's hosting a game at Garena right now at 4am, so I though I'd make a post here. Totallnewbie made yet another awesome video (in collaboration with another good dota video maker Sogovegeta). Although it is fairly short, every scenes involved are very tense and made me drop my jaw, unable to express the level of awesomeness. On top of that, the use of orchestra music really fit the mood of the scenes.

some of the highlights:
0:10 - awesomeness from the start. Pugna is chased by Tinker and Medusa, was purged and Lasered. Another nuke and he's surely dead. Comes Tinker's Rocket, and he Decrepefied just in time to nullify it (note although Rocket is magical damage, it does not work on decrepefied unit), then immediately TP away. Then Chain Lightning from Medusa (which was amplified), luckily Pugna barely survived. What a luck.

0:35 - Razor+Lion against a bunch of scourge (Axe, Sniper, Techies and Magnataur) It was clear that Razor had radiance and o killing mode. But the highlight here is that Lion, who hexed and kill Axe, Cycloned Sniper and hex again (from Guinsoo I presume) and proceed to kill him with Impale. He have the HP just enough to survive Magnataur's Shockwave (wow) but never really feel like retreating. Then come Techies with Skadi, but thanks to Lion's disable, they manage to kill both Techies and magnus.

1:34 - Another nice scene. Easy kill for Juggernaut on Zeus with his Blade Fury, but right after that he was Ruptured by Bloodseeker. Unable to run, he has no choice but to fight and at the very last duration of the Rupture, he flee, surviving with less than 20 hp. But that's not it. While running (with BS still chasing), he use bottle to replenish his hp/mana and in that instant, quickly Omnislashed BS to death. Even more impressive is the fact that he used Omnislash just 0.00001 ms before the revived Zeus use his Ulti, hence he escaped death. Again, what a luck.

2:03 - as usual, his mindgame with Bristleback. It goes as u see it, taking risk at low hp and still manage to kill the opponent (Luna and Juggernaut). And yet again, luck played a factor in this when he survived the Zeus Ulti in the end of the scene.

2:57 - my favorite scene in this video. Just can't describe how awesome this video is. Antimage fought against Bloodseeker+Naix near Scourge tower, and look at the highlighted status: Rupture, Open Wound and Bloodrage. I would give up for sure if I was that antimage. It's almost impossible to escape death. Yet, he still try to run knowing Rupture will damage him.
Then miracle happens - Rhasta double disabled Naix and BS just when a single more attack would kill AM. With Bloodrage duration over, AM blinked away. Now it goes 2v2, so it's logical for BS to chase after AM, leaving the low-hp Rhasta to Naix. Rhasta was Open Wounded and just need a little more mana for Hex, unfortunately he isn't lucky enough and dead. AM then proceed to kill BS and Naix, with the help of creeps, and survived with the hp as you see it. Really tense moments :D

The Art of MindGames vol.7

I'm a slowpoke, didn't even realize that totallnewbie has released his 7th and final volume of his MindGames Collection. This was released about 2 weeks ago.

As his final volume, I expect the content to be fabulous, and he delivers. Although, as stated by some people in his channel, the opening music theme, Requiem is overrated and overused. And there's not much scenes included in this video, considering this is his final work on Art of MindGames. Some of my personal favorite highlights in this video:

-2.05: I might see this wrong, at first I thought that Treant was a real nub for failing to kill Tiny, but then I realize the ministun he had when he brake from his invis (prolly because of Craggy Exterior). Quite a luck eh, Tiny.
-3.12: Nice risk taken by Pudge, and teamwork with Leshrac. Survives Multicasted Fireblast and Ignite, avoid Firestorm, and still has the gut to hook Ogre Magi and survives. In the end all Ogre, DK and Pit Lord dead :3
-5:30: Triple kill by Obsidian Destroyer on Vengeful Spirit, Earthshaker and the revived VS. Note that this is a low level fights (probably at level 1, with OD took a level in Astral Prison, while DK with DragonTail), and hence the quick return of VS. Nice Juke to avoid death, survives with a mere 15 hp.

Overall The Art of Mind Games series has been one of the most inspirational dota videos for me; since its release more than a year ago, there's very few dota videos of that kind and I'm truly impressed by the juking, mind games skill displayed by the players in those videos. This indirectly teach the watchers (which is massive) on the mind games, and raise the level of play in general.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I almost don't remember the detail of these matches, since it happened almost a month ago. But one thing I clearly remember is that Fear rapes in game 2, and his Beyond Godlike streak was ended partly thanks to ancient creeps :3

but that's probably not the talking point of this match, as winning or losing matters little to both team since they are already the top two team at the table, and whoever wins more does not change the seeding much for the playoff.
The best thing about this match is the fact that it was shoutcasted by MYM captain Maelk and another MYM crew Aurora live on ESNationTV. That match happened the morning when I had early class, so I had no choice but to sleep early and watch the replay later. Fortunately the shoutcast is available for download, but its friggin HUGE video at almost 1GB in size. Yeah, I'm willing to spend 1GB out of my 100GB monthly download quota for this video.

Worth it? For me yes, it really is worth it. I'm really amazed with this commentary by Maelk and Aurora, they really bring the fun out of watching DotA match live. Aurora, being an ex-cs woman player with only a fair bit of knowledge about dota, made a perfect combination with Maelk, arguably one of the best Dota strategist in the world. Every now and then, Maelk will explain every aspect of dota in relation to the game in general (love his early explanation about tidehunter and beastmaster), as well as explaining what happened in the game when something occured. He explains why bans and picks are important in league match. Why this or that hero are good or bad for competitive scene, why they are first picked than the other. And when it comes in the match itself, Maelk never missed most of the scene to comment. Yeah he did missed one or two deaths but he pretty much covered them up by analyzing what hero was killed by which hero, and made a good assumption on what really happened.

But there are a few weaknesses need to be addressed and improved should they decide to make another video shoutcast. First, this video is a freaking 4 hours long video, with no playback feature! So what does that mean? There's no way you can rewind it unless you view it from the beginning. This can be improved in the future by editing the video. It's not hard to cut the video into two parts, one part for each match (since this video covers both matches in a go). They can also remove the unnecessary advertisement, it really is a pain in the ass to wait for the ads to end (no seekplay, right).
Nevertheless overall the VOD shoutcast was really entertaining to watch for dota fan. A good material to introduce dota to the beginner, as well as non-player.
