As I mentioned in previous entry on Nier's original soundtrack;
Awesome. Freaking amazing. Superb. Despite the crappy character design/awkward gameplay, I really love the musics in Nier. Soothing, melancholic yet fit with the theme and mood of the story. They're not the same with the one you often heard from Motoi Sakuraba/Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda blablabla, and have a tiny bit resemblance with Kajiura Yuki's operatic style arrangement, sang with choir in fictional language. Whoever compose the music for Nier deserve a double thumb up. Overall I can only say that Nier has one of the best BGM I've ever listened to.
You know a game's OST is good if you can listen to them independently in your playlist without reminding you much to the game. This is the case with Nier's OST, at least it is in my case. In many other games, usually only a few tracks of their OST stand out for me, but in Nier, almost every song are good and nice to listen to, although the song has no exact meaning due to the fictional languages being used. My favorite tracks would be all versions of Song of the Ancients.
kickass music, if only the game was slightly better designed.
