Hayate no Gotoku

Hayate the Combat Butler (ハヤテのごとく, Hayate no Gotoku) is a Japanese manga series by manga author Kenjiro Hata about a boy who starts a new job as a butler and the events he experiences with his employer. The manga is currently on its eleventh volume in Japan. The English edition of the series has been licensed by Viz Media for distribution in North America. The style of the manga has a comedic gag with a slightly harem feel which constantly breaks the fourth wall. The series includes references to other anime, manga, and other things popular culture. An anime adaptation of the manga started airing on April 1, 2007 on TV Tokyo.

One of the best April series (aside from Lucky Star, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Seto no Hayanome), it's amazingly hilarious, full of parodies. Currently the anime has reach episode 13, where it's scheduled to have 50+ episodes (omg, that much...?). As for the manga, it's still ongoing, currently at vol 11, while I've just finished reading until vol 2.

Basically the story can be summarize as this: An unfortunate high school student, Ayasaka Hayate spends his days working at part-time jobs to support his extravagant parents. After incurring a debt of 150 million yen, they disappear, and Hayate was left holding the bag. Whilst running away from the debt collectors, he tries to kidnap a girl for ransom. However, the girl misunderstands his intentions and thinks he is confessing his love to her. Almost immediately, he botches the kidnap attempt but then manages to save her from other kidnappers, causing her to fall in love with him. The girl, Sanzenin Nagi, is actually the daughter of a millionaire family. In recognition of his services, she hires Hayate as a resident butler and even pays off the debt collectors. This is how Hayate becomes a combat butler. In order to serve and protect his mistress, Hayate’s life-or-death butler life begins.

Put the story aside, this series is freakin hilarious, worth to enjoy for comedy/parody theme enthusiast. Among them parodies includes Haruhi, Dragon Ball, Inuyasha, Fist of North Star, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Hetsumen to Heiki Mina, Gundam, Sadako, Kayako, Jason&Freddy and so much more. Not to mention, lolis and maids :33
Right now I'm enjoying the manga, while waiting for episode 14 to be released. The content of the anime is very similar to that on manga, except with some irregular arrangement of events. But basically there's no significant change in term of story. And, Hinagiku appear pretty late in the manga (even after vol 2, she still hasn't make her appearance)

4 down!!!

finally, my semester 1 final exam, Bachelor of Science(Biotech) is over yesterday, with Biotech paper being the last paper. Biotech paper...at a glance when I first look at past year paper, I was like "OMG if this is what the question is like, I'm going to phail this paper!" Yes, in my first attempt to answer 2005 exam paper, I only manage to do 3 to 4 questions out of 16-17 questions. I was utterly clueless on most question, particularly the IP/Patent and Microbial section. But then I started to revise the lecture notes bit by bit, and realize that it's not that hard actually...

And when then the exam starts...what the heck, they just recycle past year paper. 60% of the question in this paper had already appeared in past year exam, and some questions are even recycled directly without a slightest alteration...lol, no fun answering the paper then.

So now that my exam has finished, I can continue doing some works. Right after coming back yesterday, I starts off with WP poll and General Circular#2 draft, then I need to start making the dojin for WP fanzine. Then all those newly downloaded series....
And tonight I'm all alone at home in Collinswood... Pocek n Paku are going to Melbourne tomorrow, so they're staying at Adelaide Tower so that it'll be easier for them tomorrow to take the bus. Sirul also stay at Tower tonight. As for now, I'll marathon some more anime tonight...Hayate no Gotoku!!

A sure pwned voice! I first know Saori Sakura when I search for Nursery Rhyme OP True My Heart, and then thanks to snowdreamer of gforum, I was introduced to more songs from her. This album (not really, more like a compilation) basically contain all songs by Sakura Saori from her debut till her mini-album [A LA MODE]. omg, her voice~
Really? Really! (this has nothing to do with Shuffle!)

Actually this torrent consist of 3 Fate/Stay Night OST: Fate/Stay Night A.OST, LA SOLA Fate stay night A.OST OUT TRACKS, and this one Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua OST. FSN Realta Nua is an all-ages games released for PS2 last April 2007, and features the seiyū from the anime series. Darn, if only I could bring my PS2, I would have already order the game....

3 down

Last Wednesday, I took my 2nd paper of final exam, Chemical Engineering: Introducing to Bio-Processing (I keep mistook this subject as Process System) while yesterday was my Chemistry paper. Finally, 3 subjects are over, now what's left is biotech paper on 27th June. For the time being, since I have about 5 days before the paper, I guess I'll laid back a bit before starts revising :33

To tell the truth, the exam schedule kills me. Process system paper starts off at 2pm and end at 4pm, while Chemistry paper on the next day starts at 9.30 am. So that means I can only have one whole night to skim through past year paper...

Process System paper is killer, the paper have 8 questions and we need to answer only 7 of them, but it was a very hard paper. To be precise, I don't have enough time to answer all 7 questions, thus I doubt I could get high distinction, maybe not even distinction. Darn, I was pawned by this paper...Especially Energy/Heat section (question 7 and 8), the least part that I study.
The next day is Chemistry paper, a 3 hours paper. Since I spent the whole night revising (as well as watching Lucky Star 11 lol) and only had about 3 hours of sleep, my head hurts real bad during the exam. Luckily the paper isn't that hard, I still manage to answer all question. At least I can target higher this time...

Ok, what's done is done, I must focus on scoring Biotech paper next week.

anyway, current watch: Lucky Star 11. It was released right in the morning when I'm about to have my Chemistry paper. Though I promised myself not to watch anything these 2 days, I still can't resist Lucky Star, thus end up downloading and watching the episode, huhu. This is another episode with more slice of life and various parodies, though I don't get some of them.
This time the ED song is...well, it's Doraemon OP, sang by both Tsukasa and Miyuki. lol it do bring back memories...

Genshiken

Genshiken (げんしけん, Genshiken?) is a manga series by Kio Shimoku about a college club for otaku (extremely devoted fans of various media) and the lifestyle its members pursue. The series has also been adapted into an anime directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. The manga originally ran in Kodansha's monthly manga anthology Afternoon from June 2002 to June 2006, and has been reprinted in nine bound volumes. The ninth and final volume, which was also available in a limited edition with an audio drama featuring the original voice actors from the TV show, was released in Japan on December 2006.

Ok, this is a comedy series which basically is about Genshiken (society for the study of modern visual culture) club in University of Shiiou which activities centered on anime and games, but in particular, it's about attends conventions/comicket, going to Akibahara, shopping for dojin, cosplay and much more. Oh not to forget, their favorite series discussion, Kujibiki Unbalance.

Story plot: "Sasahara Kanji is a college freshman who decides to join a student society to share his hidden thoughts on manga, anime and gaming.
When he first visited Genshiken, his groundless pride was destroyed by the plotting of Madarame, a sophomore student in Genshiken, but he still couldn't admit that he is an otaku.
However, as he participates in society activities such as visiting dojin (private publishing) shops and anime festivals, and hangs out with other society members Kosaka (a hardcore otaku despite his extreme eccentricities and good looks), Kosaka’s girlfriend Kasuga Saki (who isn’t really an otaku), Ohno (a cosplayer) and the others, he opens his mind and resolves that he will make his way into the otaku world. With their help, Sasahara slowly adjusts to otaku life in Genshiken. "

I starts of the series by reading the manga, which at that moment reach vol 6. Then I search for the anime and found it. Not much difference than the manga though, only that it end way early than the manga (just after Sasahara become Genshiken president). The anime have 12 episode, continued with the OVA (currently 3 episode have been released), and still continue, maybe until ep24, or maybe even further.
Vol 7 and 8 of the manga has been released a few month ago, with the story has become more interesting, particularly the relationship between Sasahara and Ogiue...And the manga still ongoing till today.

1 down

Today I took my first paper of final exam: Biology. Yesterday (today actually) I went to sleep at 6 am and woke up at around 10, then prepare a bit for my exam, and go straight to the battlefield, Wayville Showground. I've never went to that place so I didn't know where does the place situated. Luckily the seniors from Broadview are able to take me to that place, along with some others who took the exam today.

My first impression toward the surrounding (Wayville) is..."lol, a fun fair??:333" yeah it's been surrounded by some fun-fair gadgets and most importantly, the exam hall reminds me of Comiket (Comic Market). It really have the air of comicket; the size, floor, atmosphere, just that this time it's full of tables and chairs, haha. Well, it's indeed a market after all. The exam starts at 2pm, and finish at 5pm. Hm...what can I say about the exam paper? Not that hard, but not easy either. I was bored for 1 hours (finish answering all question lol), and almost fell asleep. Doing past years paper really helps me a lot in answering the questions, even though in certain parts there are still questions which lead to uncertainty...

Now I feel a bit listless due to the lack of sleep...I might call it day real soon...Next: Process System and Chemistry on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Anyway, current watch: Genshiken ep15. Yay, at last the 3rd episode of the OVA has been released, with this episode being one of my favorite so far. Why not, Ogiue is there, cosplaying as Renko, while KOS-MOS and the Vice-Prez also featured this time. Ogiue is indeed one of the best example of "modern" tsundere character, hahaha
